EU Regulations
O Regulamento (UE) n.º 1169/2011 estabelece os princípios gerais, requisitos e responsabilidades que regem a informação alimentar e, em particular, a rotulagem dos alimentos.
Informação sobre Alimentos é definida como “informação relativa a um alimento e disponibilizada ao consumidor final por meio de rótulo, outro material de acompanhamento ou qualquer outro meio, incluindo ferramentas tecnológicas modernas ou comunicação verbal”.
O regulamento aplica-se aos operadores das empresas do setor alimentar em todas as fases da cadeia alimentar, que fornecem informações sobre os alimentos aos consumidores. Aplica-se a todos os alimentos destinados ao consumidor final, incluindo alimentos entregues por estabelecimentos de restauração colectiva e alimentos destinados ao fornecimento a estabelecimentos de restauração colectiva.

Por escrito, antes de a comida ser pedida, e. menus, folhetos ou informações on-line usadas para pedir a comida. Também deve ser fornecido, por escrito (por exemplo, através de recibo, folheto, menu ou outro material impresso) ou verbalmente no momento da entrega.
Por escrito no momento da entrega, se a informação só tiver sido fornecida verbalmente no momento do pedido, por ex. através de recibo, folheto, cardápio ou outro material impresso.
Regulation (EU) No. 1169/2011 establishes the general principles, requirements and responsibilities governing food information and in particular food labeling.
Food Information is defined as “information concerning a food and made available to the final consumer by means of a label, other accompanying material, or any other means including modern technology tools or verbal communication”.
The Regulation applies to food business operators at all stages of the food chain, who provide food information to consumers. It applies to all foods intended for the final consumer, including foods delivered by mass caterers, and foods intended for supply to mass caterers.
For non-prepacked food ordered over the phone or via a website the allergen information can be provided:
In written form before the food is ordered e.g. menus, leaflets or online information used to order the food. It must also be provided, either written (e.g. via a receipt, leaflet, menu or other printed material) or verbally at the moment of delivery.
In written form at the moment of delivery if the information was only provided verbally at the point of ordering e.g. via a receipt, leaflet, menu or other printed material.
